Born on March 4, 2003, in the vibrant town of Bilai, Wadhwani, Ghanshyam Kumar Das is a rising star in the world of kabaddi. Growing up in a nurturing family, with his father Mahendra Das, a talented boutique designer, and his mother Sunaina Devi, a devoted housewife, Ghanshyam had the freedom to explore his passions. His elder brother, Shyam Kumar Das, pursued different interests, but it was kabaddi that caught Ghanshyam’s heart. His journey into kabaddi began at 16 when he was inspired by the success of his school’s kabaddi team. Witnessing his peers excel and bring home medals lit a spark in him, and he eagerly joined the sport. Under the guidance of coach Manish Kumar Singh at the District Association Ground, he developed into a versatile all-rounder, mastering the roles of both a left raider and a right cover defender. His favorite skill, the back kick, is a testament to the dedication he pours into his training. Having competed in the 48th Junior Nationals and leading Bihar to a solid fifth place, Ghanshyam’s aspirations are only growing. He dreams of becoming a kabaddi coach one day, hoping to inspire and nurture future champions. With a favorite player like Pardeep Narwal serving as his inspiration and a love for swimming in his downtime, Ghanshyam is on his way to making a lasting impact in the sport he loves.
