Darshan R, born on June 14, 2004, hails from the scenic city of Hassan in Karnataka. Now residing in Mangalore to pursue his education, Darshan is an undergraduate student in the first year of his Bachelor of Social Work course. Coming from a humble background, his father, Ravi R T, works as a laborer, while his mother, Anu, is a dedicated homemaker. He has an elder brother, Suman. Darshan’s journey into the world of kabaddi began at the age of 14, inspired by senior players from his academy. He plays as a Right Cover Defender and has a remarkable skill in blocking, which he considers his favorite. Under the guidance of coach Punit at Alvas Club, he has honed his talent and participated in notable competitions. Some of his proudest achievements include winning a bronze medal at the School Nationals and the 49th Junior Nationals, as well as securing a bronze at the South Zone University tournament representing Mangalore University. Looking ahead, Darshan aspires to make a mark in the Pro Kabaddi League, inspired by his idol, Jeeva Kumar. With determination and hard work, he hopes to shine on national platforms and continue his passion for the sport. Outside of kabaddi, he enjoys playing volleyball, but kabaddi remains his true love, and he is determined to make it his career.
