Sumit Yadav, born on June 21, 2006, in Uttar Pradesh, has always been infused with a love for kabaddi. Coming from a tight-knit family in Chandigarh, where his father Ramcharan Yadav works as a watchman and his mother, Sunita Devi, manages the household, Sumit found his inspiration right at home. With an elder sister, Mahima, who plays kabaddi for the Railways, and two younger sisters, Soni and Moni, support and encouragement from family have been essential in his journey. His passion for the sport truly ignited at the age of 14, after he watched a Pro Kabaddi League match featuring the dynamic Siddharth Desai. This moment became a turning point for him. Under the guidance of his coach Ramesh Rana at the Maloya Coaching Centre in Chandigarh, Sumit has honed his skills both as a left raider and a right corner defender. He particularly loves executing toe touches and has a fondness for the exciting dubki style. Currently in his Second Year of a Bachelor of Arts program, Sumit aspires to reach the highest echelons of kabaddi, with dreams of representing India on the international stage and making his mark in the Pro Kabaddi League. His unwavering dedication, fueled by family support, keeps him on this thrilling journey ahead.
