The third day of the Promotion Round of Krantijyot Mahila Pratishthan Yuva Kabaddi Series (Men’s) Inter District Youth League 2024 ended with Kolhapur, Sangli, Ahmednagar, and Ratnagiri earning victories. Other than the match between Ahmednagar and Mumbai, all the other matches were quite intense and close. The first match against Kolhapur and Palghar was a low-scoring encounter as the final scores ended 28-22. Let’s have a look at the top performers of the day;
Ashish Yadav (Ahmednagar District) - Ashish played an important role in Ahmednagar’s hattrick of victories in the Promotion Round. His all-around contribution was decisive in consolidating a firm grip against Mumbai. He scored 15 raid points and 2 tackle points in the contest. This performance includes 12 touchpoints, 3 bonus points, and a Super Tackle, with not a single unsuccessful attempt at the defensive front.
Abhiraj Pawar (Sangli District) - A heroic performance from Abhiraj against Beed, ensured that Sangli currently stayed in the top four on the points table. He turned out to be the game-changer after being subbed-on, as he scored 12 touch points and 4 bonus points, which included a Super Raid as well. In this contest, he made one unsuccessful raid. He has now scored 99 raid points with an average of 11 points per game.
Abhishek Mapari (Ahmednagar District) – With an exceptional performance at the tackling front, Abhishek scored a High-5 against Mumbai Shahar. He scored 6 tackle points, which included two Super Tackles and four successful tackles. With just two unsuccessful tackles, he was a nightmare on the kabaddi mat for the Mumbai Raiders. His contribution led Ahmednagar to continue their unbeaten run.
