The long hours of training, hard work, gruelling match-ups, and tough tournament boiled down to this very moment as both finalists took the floor. Vels University and Karpagam University stood tall, one step away from clinching the trophy. The day got off to a positive start for Vels University as they won the toss; from that moment on, nothing could stop Vels University’s men.
After a nerve-wracking draw, Vels remained dominant throughout the season, leading to a perfect finale performance of 49-19. They defeated Karpagam University in a one-sided bout, courtesy of the Raiders. Vels University’s S. Sathish took the baton, scoring a super 10 in the finale. His support helped Sakthivel finish with a dominant performance, carrying Vels to a steady win. At no moment in the match did Karpagam University see a spark of hope they could bank on.
From the raiders to the defenders, Karpagam was forced into uncomfortable spaces they couldn’t get out of. Eventually, Vels University ended its run with 23 raids, 16 touches, and 8 all-out points. As the final whistle blew, heartbreak met Karpagam University while Vels University celebrated with confetti and heartwarming hugs of jubilation. The final scores read 49-19.
