On day 2 of the summit round, Samy Academy and Durai Singam had a tough task ahead of them/ After gaining another life to reach the next stage of the tournament, they were set to face the top two teams of the Velammal Yuva Kabaddi Series Tamil Nadu Clubs 2024. With this hype in mind, quarterfinal 3 saw PRIST University take over Samy Academy. PRIST had topped the standings with only 1 loss and this consistent dominance flourished when it was required the most.
Led by Stuwart Singh’s 9 raid points and Sasikumar’s 8 tackle points, PRIST made no mistake from the get-go. They immediately took a healthy lead. Samy Academy attempted to fight back but there seemed to be no panic among Stuwart Singh’s men as PRIST University came in clutch and sealed the win. PRIST University beat Samy Academy with a score of 30-26 and proceeded to the semi-finals.
After this, Vels University beat Durai Singam with a score of 31-26 in quarterfinal 4. Durai Singam put up a tough fight but Vels University's superb form completely controlled the match. They gained an edge on both ends of the floor. Led by Satish Kannan and Sakthivel, Vels bagged 13 raids and 14 tackle points. Durai Singam saw a spark of hope when Venkateswara and Kirubakaran tried to change gears but this didn’t last. Durai Singam suffered a loss while Vels University focused on its next challenge.
Tomorrow, in the semi-finals, PRIST University will face Karpagam University and Vels University will face NA Academy.
