In the first game of the day, table toppers Karpagam University and Vels University geared up for a fierce battle. However, this resulted in a one-sided match as Karpagam University beat Vels University by 15 points (41-26). Vels University’s Sathis Kannan tried to keep his team in the game with his 11 points, but there was simply no stopping Karpagam. Karpagam University put in a brilliant team effort with a total of 17 raids and 18 tackle points. Despite this win, Karpagam University were unable to dethrone Vels from 1st place on the points table.
Following this, NA Academy beat Kattakudi Sports with a score of 31-25. NA Academy orchestrated this win with a complete team effort led by Dhanasekar’s 8 points. Kattakudi’s Ramkumar S bagged 11 points to give his team a fighting chance.
Match 3 of the day was rather interesting as AMKC Gobi secured a much-needed win against Sivagangai Warriors. With the scoreboard reading 41-38, AMKC Gobi was awarded 2 booster points, keeping their hopes to finish in the top 10 alive. Arunkumar and Manoj of AMKC bagged 11 points each in the match. The final match-up was between SRM University and PK Sports. SRM University beat PK Sports by a narrow margin of 2 points (30-28). At a clutch moment in the match, 2 empty raids for PK Sports proved costly as SRM kept their nerves in check until the last whistle.
The player of the day was Arunkumar from AMKC Gobi. While ensuring his team bagged an important win, Arunkumar secured 11 points and also executed 1 super tackle for his team.
