The Booster Round of the Velammal Yuva Kabaddi Series Tamil Nadu Club 2024 commenced on Day 15. In the first phase of the round, the top four teams of Pool A played against the bottom four teams of Pool B. The first match was a completely one-sided effort as Vels University beat AMKC Gobi with the scoreboard reading 44-26. Vels University showed dominance in both raids and tackles. They secured 6 points with the win and remain on top of the points table.
Following this, the Sivagangai Warriors, who finished in the bottom part of Pool B, took the mighty Karpagam University by surprise. The Sivagangai Warriors beat Karpagam University by a narrow margin of 4 points. Despite losing, Karpagam University bagged 1 point and stood at the third spot. M. Selvakumar of Karpagam led from the front with 8 points, but his efforts weren’t enough to hold down Sivagangai’s defense.
Team effort stood as the theme of the day. In the third match, SRM University beat N.A Academy with a score of 38-30. SRM University’s 18 raid and 14 tackle points overpowered N.A Academy’s efforts to fight back. This win helped them bag a total of 7 points which included 2 booster points. In the final game, Ramkumar S of Kattakudi Sports secured a total of 10 points, helping his team beat PK Sports by a huge margin of 13 points (43-20). Kattakudi Sports bagged 1 booster point and stood in 7th place.
